Railside marks a major step in the evolution of The Forks, offering residential development for the first time — completing the vision for the site as a mixed-use urban district. Emphasizing environmental, economic, and social sustainability, residences will celebrate the site’s abundant cultural, historic, and recreational assets, while maintaining access for both residents and visitors.
The development plan allows for mid-rise, four- to six-storey buildings, creating a medium-density residential village. The main floor of every building is designated as public commercial space, prioritizing the pedestrian experience – an eclectic mix of retail, services, eateries, and other unique businesses. These spaces will complement the businesses and organizations on The Forks site and in The Forks Market.

Who is developing Railside?
Several developers have been selected through an RFP process to build 10 different buildings as a part of Phase 1. These developers will be announced in the near future.
